- Purpose
The purpose of this AIM plug-in is to provide an easy way to manage your favorite feeds and always be up to date with them.
Be the first to know when a friend updates his/her blog and stay informed by always having the latest news feeds fetched from your favorite news site!
You may also share your feeds with your friends by simply linking the feed in an IM window, and if they have the plug-in installed it will automatically check if the link is a feed and if so it will prompt them to add it to their list of feeds.
The plug-in supports RSS 2.0 and ATOM 1.0 feeds, has proxy support and it can play a sound for you when new feed items are found.
- Usage
One of the plug-in's advantages is that it is lightweight and very easy to use.
You can simply select the "My Feeds" option from the Actions button, and get a list of your feeds.

To add a feed simply enter a name and the link of the feed, and it will be added to the list.

When new feed items are retrieved you can see the icon indicating that the feed item hasn't been read, once it is read, the check mark appears on the icon.

The plug-in may also be configured to suit your needs.
Simply select Edit->Settings->Plug-ins, double click the FeedReader plug-in and a settings window will pop up.

From here you may increase or decrease the update interval of the feeds (default and minimum is 15 seconds) or you may choose to use a proxy when connecting to the feeds.
You can also choose a sound to play (must be a WAV type) whenever new items are found for your added feeds.
After you are happy with the changes you may save the settings.
You may share your favorite feeds with your friends, this is accomplished by simply pasting a link in the IM window and then sending it to your friend, and if he/she has the plug-in installed then it will give him/her a prompt for adding the feed to the list.

- Requirements
This plug-in has been tested on Windows XP and Windows Vista, it requires Microsoft.NET Framework v2.0+. You may download the .NET framework from the Microsoft download site at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en
