"FLAIM is a rich browser-based instant messaging application using the Adobe Flex platform. This allows it to be fast and feature-packed, whilst remaining easily accessible and light-weight, less than a 100KB download in most cases!"

It remains under development and new features are being continually added, but is ready to run now, just click the link and log in with your AIM id.

FINAL UPDATE 5/6: New features include:

- Repaired data transfer leading to improvements in FLAIM detection, AIM Typing Status and online preferences
- New window manager for increased performance and future feature additions

And, more importantly, making use of these:

- Encrypted IM for FLAIM-to-FLAIM conversations

- Theme "Colour-shifting" (Incoming IMs will automatically be tinted to increase visibility)

- FLAIM "Local Windows" (Incoming links to media can be analysed and opened in local FLAIM windows)

Many minor bugfixes are also included, of course, along with more detailed preferences and some behind-the-scenes server-side updates allowing for greater flexibility in future updates.
